These are the 18 national holidays (hari libur nasional) set by the joint decree (SKB) of the Ministers of Religious Affairs, Manpower and Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, signed on 15 September 2026, so every date is official, including Idul Fitri, Iduladha and Waisak. The same decree adds 8 cuti bersama (collective leave) days, listed below: they are not public holidays, and private employers decide whether to apply them. No replacement weekday is given when a holiday falls on a weekend.

Cuti bersama 2027: the 8 collective leave days

The same decree sets 8 cuti bersama days. They sit next to holidays to make longer breaks, but they are not public holidays. Civil servants (ASN) get them as days off that do not reduce their annual leave, under civil-service rules. For private companies the decree leaves it to each employer: where a company applies them, they are taken from your annual leave, so check your company's holiday schedule. Hospitals, power, water, telecoms, banks, transport and other public services must keep staff on duty.

Islamic holidays: Indonesia and Saudi Arabia compared

Indonesia's government fixes the Islamic holidays in the decree a year ahead, from its own calendar. The Ministry of Religious Affairs still holds an isbat (moon-sighting) meeting before Ramadan, Idul Fitri and Iduladha.
